”LATURE” is a French restaurant located in the basement of Aoyama Gakuin University, not far from Omotesando Station, and is now attracting attention in the area. Owner-chef Takuto Murota worked at ”Tateru Yoshino” before becoming chef at Shibuya's "deco" in 2010, and opened "LATURE" in 2016. The name of the restaurant was coined by Chef Murota and means "drop of nature. The name expresses his passion to provide the best hospitality to his guests by expressing his respect and appreciation for nature through French cuisine.
Chef Murota's well known as a master of gibier, and holds a hunting license himself. His cuisine is based on traditional, classic French cuisine, but developed with soft nuances using seasonal Japanese ingredients. In spring, he serves wild plants; in summer, sweetfish; and in fall and winter, his specialties are gibier dishes. Their nourishing and affectionate dishes strongly move the hearts of the eaters.
The restaurant provides a casual and relaxed atmosphere, making sure not to appear too formal and stilted. It offers table seats, semi-private rooms, and a chef's table counter in front of the open kitchen, from where guests can see and experience Chef Murota's great sense of presence as he carefully prepares his blessings from nature. This is a perfect venue for a casual date or dinner among foodies, where guests can enjoy traditional French cuisine and experience the true essence of LATURE.
