Kamakura is located about a one-hour train ride from Tokyo. Surrounded by nature, it is a city rich in atmosphere and history of Japanese culture. The modern Chinese restaurant Ichirin Hanare has opened in April of 2017 at here as a sister restaurant of Tsukiji, Tokyo's flourishing Tokyo Chinese Ichirin.
General Head Chef Hirofumi Saito is a skilled chef, becoming owner of Tokyo Chinese Ichirin after training for 12 years at Akasaka Sichuan Restaurant. Saito currently displays those skills at Ichirin Hanare. Serving as his right hand man is Yasuhiro Mochizuki, an ally/sworn friend from the Akasaka Sichuan Restaurant days. ""Disassembly and reconstruction"" is the theme of the only menu: Seasonal Omakase Course, a Limited Pocket Concierge Special Course, born out of the two working as a team.
They strive to deliver ""a cuisine and experience born out of time and atmosphere, making the most of the four seasons, the land and the seas of Japan: something that makes you smile when you take a bite"". Ichirin Hanare is very particular about the ingredients they use: Takasakadori (Takasaka Chicken), which is also used at Tokyo's world gourmet guide award restaurants, is the chicken of choice; the vegetables are Miura Vegetables sent directly from the farm; the seafood is mainly from the Yokosuka fishing port; and the noodles are bought from 60-year-old noodle specialty store Hashizume Noodles, which operates Chinese restaurants in Tokyo such as Hashizume in Hiroo and Hashizume Aoyama in Omotesando. We would like for you to see these ingredients, taste them, and experience Sichuan cuisine more closely.
One feature of the atmosphere at Ichirin Hanare is that it is in a Japanese-style house located a mere 15-minute walk from Kamakura Station. There is a main dining which is a long and wide counter after you took off your shoes to enter. The layout is the result of the desire to be a restaurant that ""treasures the closeness with its customers"".
The atmosphere, food, natural scents and sounds added to the lack of background music allow you to experience the time with your five senses. Here you can have dinner engagements, dates, family dinners (there is a children's menu) and others as you enjoy the time full of nature.
