A golden age for dazzling French with a blend of orthodox and contemporary styles

At the defining shopping center of Nagoya - Sakae - is a restaurant with a calm atmosphere located just adjacent to Shirakawa Park: "La Floraison de TAKEUCHI". The owner-chef, Masaki Takeuchi began his career at "La Pyramide" in French Vienne. Upon returning to Japan he worked at "Taillevent Robuchon" in Ebisu, Tokyo and at "Mikuni Nagoya" at the Nagoya Marriott Associa Hotel. In 2007 he became the head chef at "Grand-Famille Chez Matsuo" of Nagoya. He opened his own restaurant - "La Floraison de TAKEUCHI" - 5 years later, in 2013.

Seeking a halfway point between the casual nature of a bistro and the formality of a grand maison, by combining high quality and reasonable prices, the restaurant was immediately recognized as a small spot that even gourmets can enjoy. In 2019, the restaurant was awarded one star in the Aichi, Gifu, and Mie editions of the worldwide gourmet guide and has been listed in the prestigious French guidebook for five consecutive years. The food is based on classic French techniques while focusing on ingredients to make simple, modern cuisine that is good for the body. Similarly, the restaurant name "La Floraison" refers to the blooming period for flowers in French - and from the specialty appetizers made from edible flowers and organic herbs, everything down to the appearance has a showy quality that will delight all the senses.

Chef Takeuchi is also a recognized sommelier by the Japan Sommelier Association (JSA) and works with his sommelier to carefully maintain a selection of roughly 450 French wine. With an excellent balance of wine from major production regions such as Domaine and Chateaux, the lineup is sure to please wine aficionados. Chef Takeuchi also has a wine pairing course available.

The interior of "La Floraison de TAKEUCHI" has a modern feel, designed with brown, black, and white as the principal colors. There are 6 seats available at the open kitchen counter resulting from the chef's custom kitchen island, as well as-as 14 table seats and a half-size private room suitable for 6-8 guests. The atmosphere makes it a great place to enjoy a "live feeling" with lovers or friends, receptions, or special days with family - any occasion is welcome.
