"Yakiniku Sudo Haruyoshi" is located in Fukuoka's Haruyoshi neighborhood, 4-minute on foot from Tenjin-Minami Station on the Fukuoka Subway Line. The area, located adjacent to Kyushu's most famous shopping district, Nakasu, is overflowing with hustle and bustle and is a destination for many visitors from both within Japan and abroad. It is here that the owner Yoshio Sudo has chosen to go into business. After working for 2 years at a fruit and vegetable market in Tsukiji, Tokyo, he decided to become a "yakiniku chef" and knocked on the doors of "Yakiniku Kunimoto," the famous yakiniku restaurant in Hamamatsucho, Tokyo. He trained there for 7 years before setting out to open "Yakiniku Sudo" in Kumamoto in 2012. Then, in 2016, he decided to try to bring his delicious meats to even more people, expanding his business to Fukuoka and opening "Yakiniku Sudo Haruyoshi."
The concept of the restaurant is that of a full-service yakiniku dining experience, where guests can enjoy the highest-quality meats expertly grilled by professional staff. The main variety of meat served is from high-quality Japanese Black Wagyu Beef cattle raised in the natural environments of Kyushu. From among these cattle, cows with particularly fine-grained meat rich in subcutaneous fat are carefully selected and expertly grilled to perfection by professional staff who know exactly how to grill each type of meat depending on its characteristics. One must-try cut is the "Thin-Sliced Sirloin." As soon as it is lightly grilled over a charcoal flame and enters your mouth, the savory flavor of the meat spreads throughout its layers. In addition, the tare sauce, inherited from "Yakiniku Kunimoto," brings out the flavor of the meat even further. The produce, sourced by Sudo from Kyushu using his experience gained at the Toyosu(ex-Tsukiji) market of fruit and vegetable market, is full of flavor and freshness that complement the meats perfectly. Wine for pairing include Burgundy and other varieties and are of reputable brands specially selected by Sudo himself to compliment the meats at "Yakiniku Sudo."
In addition, to counter seating for 6, the interior features semi-private table seating separated by curtains. Created by an interior designer, the brick-themed finish is sophisticated and charming. In addition to whenever you feel that craving for top-class yakiniku, it is also an excellent spot for entertaining guests and holding business lunches, dates and anniversaries. English service is also available, and guests from overseas are heartily invited to experience the best of Fukuoka's yakiniku.
