Away from the center of Tenjin, one of the most popular downtown areas in Fukuoka "Golden Street," there are many long-established stores. Located at a street with a Showa atmosphere is Kappou Murakawa. The owner Koji Murakawa under the influence of his father, who is a Japanese cuisine chef, and decided to become a chef when he was an elementary school student. After graduating from the cooking school, he trained at the Tokyo branch of Kikunoi, a famous restaurant in Kyoto, and then he brushed up at the world gourmet guide award Gensai in Kobe and sushi restaurant. He became independent in his hometown Fukuoka in June 2016.

The concept is "Japanese sake and seasonal dishes." They serve seasonal Kaiseki courses and daily à la carte dishes made with Kyushu ingredients and sake. The particular fish is the seafood that is caught in the Kyushu area such as Genkai, Oita and Nagasaki that is purchased directly from the market every morning. They serve the fresh fish like the natural white fish with sashimi, bowls and grilled dishes to enjoy the seasonal flavor. In addition, high quality meat from Kyushu such as Saga beef and Hanamidori Akadori chicken from Fukuoka are carefully selected. Underpinning the flavor of these carefully selected ingredients is the best stock from "Tennen Dounansan Itto Makonbu" (kelp) and "dried bonito flakes". The meticulous work shows the delicate skills of the famous shop. The other specialty is the local sake that is directly purchased from the local brewery. They also have sake that is recommended for each season. The pairing that is unique to local production for local consumption is also special.

There are 8 counter seats and a private room (6 people) in the space where you can feel the warmth of the wood like the counter top plate with a single plate of Katsura. The bamboo chopsticks used were also made by owner-chef Murakawa's father. The cheerful atmosphere of the owner and the landlady is full of warm hospitality. The restaurant is mainly for calm guests and has an atmosphere where even a single guest can relax, so please use it not only for daily use but also for various occasions such as dining together, anniversaries and business entertainment.
