""L’Octave Hayato KOBAYASHI"", a hideaway French restaurant in Kitasando, Tokyo. When chef Hayato Kobayashi was in high school, he discovered the joy of cooking while working part-time at a restaurant to support his musical activities. This is when he began his career as a chef. After working at ""Imperial Hotel"", ""Georgian Club"", he went to France, where he built on his experience for four years at world gourmet guide awarded restaurants such as ""Jacque Decoré"", ""Une Table au Sud"" and ""Flocons de Sel"".
After returning to Japan and continuing to hone his skills at “L’Effervescence” and other French restaurants in the city, chef Kobayashi opened his own restaurant in 2015.
The restaurant name “L’Octave” is interpreted as ""infinity"" on the musical scale, a combination of “Oct” which means infinity, and “tave” which is from “octave”, a musical term.
As music is carefully created from the do-re-mi scale, each dish is created from carefully selected ingredients. In the restaurant, there are 8 counter seats behind an open kitchen and a 4-seater table. The open kitchen allows guests to experience a ""live performance"" as they watch chef Kobayashi prepare dishes. Each dish is simple and beautiful, prepared with the most seasonal ingredients chosen and combined by the chef.
With an at-home atmosphere, L’Octave is available for casual entertainment, dates, girl's night out, and various other events. With reasonable course meals, young people can enjoy high-quality French dishes at this restaurant.
