Sombreuil is an elegant restaurant located on a 3-minute walk from JR Iidabashi Station in the city center. A beautifully arranged garden sprawls over an approximately 1500 square meter land, and in spring and autumn, the rose which the restaurant was named after blooms gracefully. Authentic French cuisine is what is served by chef Toshinori Wakatsuki in this gorgeous space in the middle of the city.
After training at La Marée and Tour D'argent, chef Wakatsuki traveled to France. Upon receiving training at famous world gourmet guide award restaurants, he was appointed as chef at Aimée Vibert in Kojimachi after training at L'osier. It earned world gourmet guide award in 2007. Since then, the restaurant has earned 2 stars consecutively for 7 years and has established itself as a French mansion restaurant. Chef Wakatsuki and the staff at the time came together miraculously to form a true grand maison, which is rare in Japan, and opened Sombreuil in July 2017. The dishes, expressed beautifully and authentically with the sensibility of chef Wakatsuki, are made with carefully selected ingredients from France and Japan. With over 400 varieties of wine mainly from France, pairing courses where the wine is chosen to match the food, are also available.
Sombreuil will satisfy guests in all five senses with the food, the service, and the atmosphere. From the extraordinariness of the spiral staircase at the entrance to the garden, this restaurant with 40 seats in the main dining and private rooms which can seat 2~6, and up to 30 guests, is ideal for dinner with a special person or for business entertainment. We would like you to experience a true gastronomic rarity at this grand maison.
