Perfect for celebrating special occasions, this Japanese BBQ restaurant offers world-class premium beef that eloquently tells the story of the land and its producers, served in a calm, private setting

Found on the first floor of a building on Gaien-Nishi Street, Nishiazabu Kenshiro is a short 10-minute walk from Roppongi Station. This Japanese BBQ restaurant was opened in 2015 in Nishiazabu, a popular dining destination known for its luxury BBQ restaurants. Here, the restaurant stands out as a genuinely celebratory eatery designed for celebrating special occasions. General chef Taisuke Chikashige trained in French and Japanese cuisine and stepped into the world of BBQ cuisine as he took his current position at Nishiazabu Kenshiro. With a keen eye for spotting meat of outstanding quality, he tackles each ingredient head-on to deliver exceptional cuisine to each guest.

Under the mission of offering Japan’s best festive BBQ, Nishiazabu Kenshiro welcomes each customer with exquisite food prepared with great care in every detail, including ingredients, culinary techniques, and meat cookery, as well as attentive hospitality and a diner-first approach. The meat served at the restaurant is sourced only from producers across Japan who share values and aspirations with chef Chikashige. In particular, full course meals featuring the best-quality meat available on the day are exceptional – the restaurant’s specialty, Kenshiro-style Wagyu Beef Chateaubriand, is cooked at low temperature and smoked instantly to bring out its rich aroma and flavor. A decadent Wagyu Beef and Sea Urchin Tartar Hot Dog is also popular for its combination of precious beef tartar and sea urchin served on toasted nori seaweed. The wine list is curated to feature vintages that pair well with meat, and consists of 50 wines sourced from France, the U.S., and Italy. To assist in choosing the perfect pour, a dedicated sommelier is always on hand to recommend pairings for customers.

As guests step into the restaurant, the Japanese-style entrance hall leads to tearoom-inspired low doors that open into private rooms. There are nine private rooms in total, each with two to eight seats, perfect for dinner with a partner or treasured clients. Book one of these rooms to enjoy exclusive premium beef in a sophisticated setting at Nishiazabu Kenshiro.
